Remembrance Day is on November 11, 2024 and is observed to commemorate the sacrifices of those who have served in the line of duty.
The day is marked by a two minute silence held across the country at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
Towns and cities up and down the country will host events and parades on Sunday, November 10, 2024. But many also show their support by purchasing a poppy, which can be worn in the day and weeks running up to Remembrance Day.
This year, as Remembrance Sunday falls on November 10, services to mark the occasion will take place across Greater Manchester over the weekend.
