5 Seconds of Summer is back with CALM, the Australian rock band’s first studio album in two years. The 12-track project follows 2018’s Youngblood.
It features production and co-writing credits for hitmakers like watt, benny blanco, Louis Bell, Charlie Puth, and OZGO. Other notable co-writers include Ali Tamposi, Donna Lewis, and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.
5SOS shared five pre-release singles: “Easier,” “Teeth,” “No Shame,” “Old Me,” and “Wildflower.” In an interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, drummer Ashton Irwin said CALM is “the end of the younger version of us.” “I think we planted a lot of lyrical seeds for directions we could potentially go in,” he explained. “With this album, it’s a gateway into us exploring different lyricism.
