Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Rangers fans have been waiting for in more ways than one. Yes, they've been dreaming of the moment of unseating Celtic as Scottish football's top dogs for years but they've also been waiting months to see their heroes raise the Premiership trophy aloft.
Rangers were crowned champions 10 weeks ago and Light Blue diehards have been living it up ever since as they toasted the perfect season after years of false dawns.
And what a day it is for a fanbase who stuck with team during the most gut-wrenching decade before mounting a comeback under Steven Gerrard.
The Liverpool icon has delivered '55' and captured the hearts and minds of followers at Ibrox as they romped to the earliest title win in Scottish football history.
