Rangers’ Europa League opponents Bayer Leverkusen have joined Germany’s other European representatives in establishing a solidarity fund to ease the financial strain on their domestic rivals.
Giants Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have teamed up with Die Werkself and clubbed together for the greater good of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 by donating their national media revenues earned from this season’s campaign.
In a move that may be followed around Europe, the four have forgone their share of the TV pot, which is worth around €12.5million.They’ve also gone a step further and contributed a further €7.5million of their own dough to take the total to a cool €20million.
