As things stand no-one knows when Scottish football will return and what form it will take when it does.All games at all levels have been suspended until further notice in response to the coronavirus pandemic, with the option of playing behind closed doors rejected.

It's not clear if the remaining games of this season will be scrapped or played at a later date, but one potential option is to play matches over the summer if Euro 2020 is pushed back by a year.

Even if the outbreak has died down by then though it won't be easy, not least because of the way football contracts work.In most cases, a footballer's contract will run from July 1 - the start of the summer transfer window - until June 30 of the year it expires.
