Rail bosses have apologised after passengers were left stranded on Sunday when storm damage caused the cancellation of all trains between Manchester and London.
Services were halted and engineers worked through the night to repair the damage after storms led to chaos on the network. Last night Network Rail admitted the 'extreme weather' had 'got the better of us' as they told stranded passengers at London Euston not to travel.
By Monday morning the damaged lines near Rugby had been repaired and trains are running again, but a separate problem caused by a signalling fault at Coventry means there's a further delays on the West Coast Main Line this morning.
