Scott Methven, 47, worked alongside Queen Elizabeth for the better part of four years and said she refused to replace his post while he took time away to be with his terminally ill wife Morven.

Following his wife's devastating cancer diagnosis in 2017, the Queen frequently checked on Methven and offered him support as he tried to cope with his wife's cancer battle. "For me, it was just her humility as a person," Methven told PEOPLE magazine.
