The Queen has been faced with fresh heartache as one of her closest friends, Sir Timothy Colman has died age 91. Sir Timothy, who was the husband of the Queen's first cousin Lady Mary Colman, was a close friend of Her Majesty and regularly visited her at Sandringham.The monarch's friend passed away on Thursday 9 September surrounded by family at his home in Bixley Manor, near Norwich.
Sir Timothy was a Royal Navy officer, world record holder, naturalist, businessman and a Knight of the Garter. He also had key roles in establishing the University of East Anglia.
He was also a Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk. Sir Timothy was also the great grandson of Jeremiah James Colman, who created Colman's Mustard.
