The Queen has reportedly delayed recording her Christmas speech until next week, when the country should know the outcome of the Brexit negotiations.

The monarch usually records her end-of-year message at the beginning of December, but it is understood that this year she has not recorded it yet.

According to reports, she has started writing a "personal and emotional" message but has not finished yet. It comes as the UK and EU face a make-or-break decision on post-Brexit trade agreement on Sunday.

After a week of tension and a deadlock due to disagreements on key issues such as fishing and the level playing field, December 13 has been set as a final deadline to either sign a deal or go ahead with no-deal plans.
