Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
QPR have begun their search for a new boss as Loftus Road chiefs start preparations for life after Michael Beale. The London outfit are bracing themselves for an official approach from Rangers seeking permission to speak to their manager.
But while they wait, they have instructed a string of top agents to start putting out feelers for potential replacements should Steven Gerrard's former No.2 decide he's set on a move back to Ibrox.
It's only a month since the R's started a similar process after allowing Beale to meet with Wolves to discuss the vacancy at Molineux.
The Premier League strugglers were stunned when the 42-year-old knocked back that offer but Queens Park Rangers bosses fear he will find it harder to resist a return to Rangers.
