Former Liverpool star El Hadji Diouf has reignited his long-running feud with Steven Gerrard by claiming the current England team is thriving because it isn't beset by internal feuding.

The 42-year-old is now special advisor with Senegal and is gearing up for one of the biggest games in his country's history when they face the Three Lions on Sunday night with a World Cup quarter-final place up for grabs.

While many within the Senegal camp are laser-focused on defeating Gareth Southgate's side - Diouf couldn't resist the chance to stick the boot into his old Liverpool team-mate.

The former Rangers boss and the man who spent six months at Ibrox have long had a strained relationship with Gerrard left miffed over Diouf's dedication to Liverpool cause during two ill-fated years at Anfield.
