Kenny Dalglish insists no amount of improvements by Rangers under Michael Beale will see them overhaul a nine-point deficit to Celtic but says the new boss must find better quality players in the January transfer window and target a domestic cup.
And the Liverpool and Celtic legend doesn’t believe the new Ibrox boss will be fazed by the daunting challenge of trying to spark a power shift in Glasgow having already succeeded as part of Steven Gerrard’s coaching staff.
Dalglish doesn’t see an issue with Beale returning to his old club either having done the same thing twice during his own career with both the Reds and the Hoops.
However, he warned it will become a problem if things don’t go well for the 42-year-old who left QPR after just six months in the Loftus Road hot-seat for an emotional return to Govan.
