Prince William to Prince Harry proved the key moment in Saturday's surprise public reunion of the two brothers and their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, according to royal sources.The so-called "Fab Four" were seen again in public together after Harry reportedly agreed to a mobile message from William inviting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and Kate on a walkabout to greet the well-wishers who had gathered in Windsor to pay their respects to the Queen following her death on Thursday. READ MORE: Piers Morgan praises 'selfless' Princess Anne who 'never gets enough credit'For 45 minutes, the two couples, for whom relations have been strained since Harry and Meghan's break from the Royal Family in January 2020, then viewed the flowers outside Windsor Castle and walked among the crowds lining the streets, while shaking hands, accepting condolences and engaging in conversation.Since then, it has emerged that William had sent the text message earlier in the day, having previously sounded Harry out about whether he would like the couples to view the flowers together.Harry subsequently agreed to the proposed time for a walkabout, with an insider telling the Daily Mail: "It happened very quickly – remarkable really considering they didn’t see each other in Scotland."The Duke of Sussex arrived in Balmoral after the Queen died on Thursday, whereas William was there at the time she passed away.On the evening, Harry then stayed at Balmoral with Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Princess Anne, while William resided overnight with their father - the new King Charles - at his home in Birkhall.The motivation behind the text is unclear but rumours at the weekend that it came at the behest of Charles have been dismissed.
