Estranged brothers Prince Harry and Prince William may experience an ‘awkward’ meeting at the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond.The journalist and television presenter spoke exclusively to OK!
following the death of Lord Fellowes, who served as private secretary to Queen Elizabeth II for nine years, and was married to Princess Diana’s sister Lady Jane Spencer for 46 years.
Royal watchers expect that Harry will want to attend his uncle’s funeral, as he was close to the Fellowes family, with Jane asked to give a reading at Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.
However, Jennie believes his attendance may cause problems. “I imagine Harry will want to be at his uncle’s funeral…. but his presence would cause all sorts of awkwardness if William attends too,” she said. “It would be nice to think, though, that two grown-up men could at least be in the same space….
