Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be "planning their escape route" back to the UK amid a high-profile lawsuit brought by The Heritage Foundation in Washington DC who are investigating the duke's drug use that he confessed to in his tell-all memoir.

The Daily Mail's Richard Eden has warned that the Duke of Sussex "has every reason to be nervous" after the conservative think tank launched a Freedom of Information Act request for the prince's immigration papers to determine whether he was being open or misleading about his past drug use.Harry details the use of cannabis, cocaine, magic mushrooms and ayahuasca in his debut book, Spare, which was released in January 2023, three years after the Sussexes' quit the Royal Family and relocated to Montecito, California, the Express reports.Eden told Palace Confidential: "As the US presidential election is on the horizon, we know Meghan is not a fan of Donald Trump and that feeling is very much mutual."Trump's enjoyed making suggestions that they won't have such an easy ride if he's president again so I think Harry has every reason to feel nervous in the USA now and it would suit him if he's got that escape route back to his homeland."His remarks come after the former US President previously said that he would not protect Harry after he betrayed his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
