Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been confirmed to head on a joint visit to Nigeria in May for talks on the Invictus Games, but now, there are rumbles that there is more to the trip as an expert has claimed it's an attempt to "one-up" Harry's royal relatives. The trip was announced this week and will come after Harry visits the UK solo on May 8 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
But now, Mail On Sunday's Charlotte Griffiths has claimed that the Royal Family are "rolling their eyes" at the upcoming Nigeria trip. "Of course, they never try anything other than get a one-up on the Royal Family but I think what they're really doing is on paper, they're trying to celebrate 10 years of Invictus Games," she said while appearing on GB News. "Let's face it, the real reason is that they need content for Netflix, they want to appear as quasi-royals, they want to carry on conducting quasi-tours as if they are still members of the Royal Family.
I think the fact they are going to a Commonwealth country when they describe the Commonwealth as Empire 2.0 is a little bit rich." Speaking in 2020, Harry urged the Commonwealth to 'look at the past' and was accused of disrespecting Queen Elizabeth with his criticisms of it.
