The Duke of York, 64, holds a lease with the Crown Estate that means he can live in the property until 2078.However, the scandal-ridden prince is believed to be facing mounting pressure to cover his own expenses for the maintenance and security of the Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor if he wishes to continue residing there.
The push to relocate Prince Andrew, who shares the house with his former spouse Sarah Ferguson, has been dubbed the "Siege of Royal Lodge".
It's understood that the father-of-two desired to preserve Royal Lodge as an inheritance home for his daughters, Princess Beatrice, 36, and Princess Eugenie, 34.
