Buckingham Palace has confirmed the exciting news that Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are expecting their second child together in early spring. The new baby will be 11th in line to the throne and be a sibling for Edo's son, Christopher Woolf 'Wolfie' Mapelli Mozzi, aged eight, and their daughter, Sienna Mapelli Mozzi, aged three.

Alongside a sweet never before seen photograph of the family, it was confirmed that The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.

The couple, who married in a secret service in Windsor in 2020, welcomed their daughter Sienna on September 18, 2021 and remain fiercely private over their children's lives.

The meaning behind Sienna's first name was explained by a family friend who told Hello!: "They were looking for an Italian name which started with an S for Sarah, to honour the Duchess [Sarah Ferguson], and also reflected the golden rust colour of both the Duchess's hair colour and Beatrice's, which the new baby shares." And, much like her other cousins, Princess Beatrice chose to honour her late grandmother by including 'Elizabeth' in Sienna's name. The desire for an Italian link stems from Edoardo's own family and his aristocratic links to Italian nobility as he is a Count.
