The late Queen bestowed properties upon both of her grandsons Prince William and Harry and their wives post-wedding. However, it seems one couple received a significantly larger portion of the marital bounty, as per a study on the value of royal residences. After their 2011 nuptials, Prince William and Kate Middleton were gifted Anmer Hall, a stunning Georgian country house built in 1802, boasting ten bedrooms, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

In contrast, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were given Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, a relatively modest property, following their 2018 wedding.A 2021 study by rental company UNCLE highlighted the stark disparity between the two homes, estimating potential rental income for the Royal Family, the Mirror reports. The research suggested that Anmer Hall could fetch a staggering £44,000 per calendar month, a sum far beyond the reach of most Brits, costing £14,570 more than the average annual salary at the time.Conversely, Frogmore was identified as the royal property with the least earning potential, with a proposed monthly rental fee of just £7,760 according to UNCLE.

The residential property firm UNCLE has revealed that Buckingham Palace would be the priciest royal residence to rent. In a statement, they said: "With 775 rooms and a central London location, Buckingham Palace would cost £2.6 million to rent per calendar month."Princess Anne's London home at St James's Palace came in second, with the company stating: "St James's Palace is at £1.7 million rent per calendar month".

Windsor Castle, where the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip isolated during the Covid19 pandemic, would be third most expensive, renting out for £1.3 million per calendar month.Get the latest news sent
