The report on behalf of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services found GMP had failed to record one in four violent crimes reported to it, warning that people were being 'denied justice'.
The blistering review also highlighted drifting, poorly-planned investigations and safeguarding failures. Speaking during a visit to Bolton on Friday, the prime minister called for those responsible for the failings to be 'held to account'.
