Joe Biden wears a black face mask while making his first public appearance in two months.

With stay-at-home orders in place, Memorial Day is looking a little different this year — but that didn’t stop some of our favorite celebrities from finding new ways to mark the occasion! Joe Biden, 77, and his wife Jill, 68, both sported protective black face masks as they stepped out to place a wreath at the Delaware Memorial Bridge Veterans Memorial Park in New Castle on Monday, May 25. The appearance marked the first for the presumptive Democratic nominee for president since the outbreak of COVID-19, who was been in quarantine at his Wilmington home since March. “Never forget the sacrifices that these men and women made. Never, ever, forget,” he said at the ceremony, noting that it “feels good to be out of my house.”

It’s been a long time coming and I may get some pushback, but right now, women are certainly running things in a major way. From Stacey Abrams impressively making a claim to become Joe Biden’s running mate to BIND London designing fashion for Black women of all hair types to four Black artists occupying the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 — Black Queen Energy is live and in full effect for 2020.

After the great falling away of the many democratic candidate hopefuls, the nation is left with one man standing–Joe Biden. Joe has been speaking on various issues, but many celebrities have been calling him out in regards to his plans for the black community.

Unlike Donald Trump, Joe Biden has no problem with protecting others by wearing a face mask. The presumptive Democratic nominee for the upcoming 2020 presidential election briefly strapped his face mask on during the May 21 episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, his first time doing so on late night television (but certainly not his first time wearing a mask in general). It was a symbolic move, since just hours before the show aired, Biden’s election rival took off his mask after touring a Ford plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., simply to spite reporters.
