Premier League chiefs will reportedly be given emergency powers to slap coronavirus rule breakers with big fines and even a possible points deduction.

The league are said to be concerned that players flouting the rules could affect their Project Restart plans and lead to a spike in the spread of the virus.

As a result, the Sun are reporting that the Premier League will be given the power to slap players with a £200,000 fine if they are caught breaking the rules.

The report states that a second incident would then lead to double punishment, with repeat offenders facing 'limitless punishments' which are said to include points deductions.
