Sunday morning on a quiet, pristine new-build estate saw families out walking their dogs, waking up for an 11am brunch - on a street swarming with police.
Dozens of police officers, armed police, and crime scene investigators descended on Norfolk Street in Walkden at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening, November 4.
Greater Manchester Police said a 34-year-old man had been rushed to hospital after being shot and stabbed in a ‘targeted attack’.
More than 12 hours later, officers remained at the taped off scene sweeping the street for evidence. The man was left in hospital in a ‘serious but stable condition’ after suffering stab wounds and a ‘suspected gunshot injury’, according to the force.
