The independent police watchdog has confirmed an investigation has been launched into Greater Manchester Police after a woman was seriously injured in a stabbing in Hyde.
Officers were initially called to Grosvenor Road in Hyde at around 11pm on Friday (June 28) due to the 'concern for the welfare' of a woman.
After police attended, a different woman was stabbed inside the property. She was rushed to hospital, where she remains with life-changing injuries.
The incident was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), who told the Manchester Evening News they 'sent investigators to the scene' due to prior police contact.
