Liverpool could clinch their first league title in 30 years in a Merseyside derby - staged in Manchester. The bizarre notion has emerged following the latest proposals to finish the top flight season.

The Premier League will re-start on June 17, with Aston Villa hosting Sheffield United and Arsenal travelling to Manchester City.

The matches are the two games in hand and a full fixture list would then take place on the weekend of June 19-21, with 92 fixtures left to play.

Jurgen Klopp's men are due to face Everton at Goodison Park and could be crowned champions with a win if Pep Guardiola's men have lost to the Gunners.
