It was intelligence which required immediate action. Police were told that a gunman was heading for a popular Manchester music venue.

The tip was that the suspect was going to Albert Hall in Peter Street in the city centre where a gig was being staged later that day.

Officers had to find and intercept him. They also had to alert the management of the building and discuss the risk of allowing the concert to go ahead.

The drama will unfold in the next episode of Manhunt on Channel 4 this evening. (Tuesday January 28). The final part of a three-part series will track the incident from the moment the intel is received to its dramatic conclusion.
