Five tourists looking to celebrate Christmas on the Isles of Scilly were quickly sent packing by the police. The islands are the only part of England still in Tier 1 coronavirus restrictions, meaning the measures are lax and indoor drinking with people from outside your household is permitted.
The tourists were looking to take advantage of that fact but were soon rumbled by police. They had travelled from a Tier 4 area for the festive period.
Police met them at the airport on the main island St Mary's on Christmas Eve and ordered them back to the mainland immediately.
