Police issue update after boy, 13, rushed to hospital following chase

Police have issued an update after a teenager was arrested and taken to hospital following a chase through north Manchester.

A 13-year-old boy riding an e-bike was involved in a crash on Shackliffe Road, in Moston, at around 4.30pm on Friday (February 8).

Greater Manchester Police said an officer from the Roads Policing team, on a motorcycle, had been pursuing the youth. Video footage seen by the Manchester Evening News shows a GMP motorbike on blue lights, turning off a roundabout while following an e-bike that was riding on a pavement.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failure to stop. He was also taken to hospital following the collision, with a cordon put up at the scene on Friday evening.
