Tour de France route in Mende.The 14th stage of the prestigious cycling event got underway on Saturday as riders trawled through hilly terrain to get from St-Etienne to the town of Mende, Southern France.But there were shocking scenes as one Twitter user took to the social media site to post a picture of a police car engulfed in flames.

Unknown for now. @sporza photo of our technicians on the road."The stage 14 route boasted constant bumps and rolls through the eastern side of the Massif Central while the climbs got longer and higher as the race approached the town of Mende.It comes after Mads Pederson won Stage 13 of the 2022 Tour with a masterclass in how to win from the breakaway.
The Trek-Segafredo rider achieved his goal of getting out ahead of the peloton just after the first climb up Cote de Brie. He was helped along by teammate Quinn Simmons, while a lack of threat from the peloton encouraged him to attack with 10km to go.
