32 gamers aged 20-26 were hooked up to heart rate monitors and asked to play some of their favourite games before filling in a stress and anxiety questionnaire afterwards.While all gamers reported lower stress levels regardless of which game had been played, the classic tactical shooter Counter-Strike had the largest impact in terms of reducing stress levels and heart rates.The free-to-play battle game Apex: Legends, meanwhile, was the most stress-inducing game, likely because of its shorter and more intense matches.
