Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969), also known by her nickname J.Lo, is an American actress, singer, dancer, fashion designer, producer and businesswoman. In 1991, Lopez began appearing as a Fly Girl dancer on In Living Color, where she remained a regular until she decided to pursue an acting career in 1993. For her first leading role in the 1997 Selena biopic of the same name, Lopez received a Golden Globe nomination and became the first Latin actress to earn over US$1 million for a film. She went on to star in Anaconda (1997) and Out of Sight (1998), later establishing herself as the highest-paid Latin actress in Hollywood.

Plans for wind turbines given go-ahead

Three new wind turbines are set to be built at West Calder.A planning application to build the structures at Pearie Law has been approved by West Lothian Council.Two turbines will stand at 180m tall while another will measure 150m and will be built by Huddersfield-based Wind Estate (UK) Ltd.The application attracted objections from people living nearby, who cited proximity to houses and the negative impact on the surrounding countryside.One said: “This proposal situates turbines very near to residential properties, far nearer than any of the previous installations, of which there are many in our area already.“I find it hard to believe that testing for audio disturbance has allowed this development application to get to this stage.“The original area is remote and hidden behind the wooded section that would be felled to make way for the turbines.

It will open up the view of all that wasted land right back to the end of the reservoir."This would prove to be a health issue as viewing this barren wilderness every day will be depressing and detrimental to mental health.”Another added: “I strongly object to the proposal for yet more (even larger) turbines in a landscape already blighted by over 40 turbines in the immediate vicinity with more approved for construction, most notably at Camilty.
