The council’s executive signed off a plan to review and update Trafford’s affordable housing fund with a view to boosting social rent home numbers across the borough.
The move means the council and housing associations can now use money from this pot, regardless of whether or not they’ve secured funding elsewhere, to subsidise the provision of affordable homes for residents.
The Trafford affordable housing fund was launched in September 2018 and is currently being used to provide 30 new apartments for social rent in Timperley, Altrincham, which are expected to be completed in September
