Pigeons are to blame for the blaring alarm disturbing the peace in Salford Quays, according to the council. Residents have complained about the noise coming from the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre, which they say is triggered sporadically throughout the day.
A spokesperson for the Salford City Council apologised and says the alarm is being set off by pigeons getting into the centre and flying around.
The council say staff have now taken steps to prevent the alarm being triggered without harming pigeons. Residents say the issue has been going on for close to two years and most recently the alarm has been disturbing NHS staff as they catch up on vital sleep.
