PHILLIP Schofield has thanked his This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby for helping him through the "darkest times". A very sombre Phil, 52, credited Holly for her amazing support after he came out as gay on live television.
The dad-of-two opened up about the "fairly dark place" he was in during that time. They were chatting to Simon Gunning, the CEO of CALM, a charity aiming to end suicide, when Phil made the shocking revelations.
Simon was speaking about the jump of male suicide in England and Wales in 2019. Men have always accounted for 75% of all suicides, but the numbers in 2019 were the highest they had been in two decades.
