As the rest of the England squad jetted off on holiday, Foden stayed at home to recuperate and recover from his foot injury.
City's other England internationals returned to pre-season training this week, but Foden has been absent and Pep Guardiola confirmed he was still recovering from injury when previewing the Community Shield last week.
