Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has told Andre Onana that he should not look to alter his game in any way as he prepares to make his competitive debut for the club against Wolves.
The Cameroonian, 27, became United's second signing of the summer last month, completing a big-money move from Inter Milan. He will fill the void created by David de Gea's departure.
Onana, who worked with United manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax, will revolutionise the way that the Reds play, certainly when it comes to building and playing out from the back.
He is one of the best distributors in the game and is not afraid to get on the ball and dictate play from his own area. However, former United shot-stopper Schmeichel, who won five Premier League titles during his time at Old Trafford, does not believe that Onana needs to prove himself as a ball-playing goalkeeper at Old Trafford.
