Premier League clubs are busy putting their final plans in place for the summer window but may also be starting to plot further ahead.
Manchester City and Manchester United have both been busy in the transfer market as they strengthen their squads for the new 2023/24 season.
City have added midfielder Mateo Kovacic as a replacement for Ilkay Gundogan and defender Josko Gvardiol has been signed from RB Leipzig, while Jeremy Doku is expected to replace Riyad Mahrez’s creativity out wide, United have added a trio of signings in Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund.
The latter will help fill the striker void in United’s squad, while Onana replaces long-time number one David De Gea, and Mount brings another dimension to midfield.
