Phil Foden has revealed his new motivation after winning the treble with Manchester City. The academy graduate played 48 games across all competitions as City claimed Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League glory last season.
That included coming on for an injured Kevin De Bruyne in the first half of the Champions League final as the club finally got their hands on the famous European trophy.
It was an incredible feat from Guardiola’s men, who won the English top-flight for a third straight season. However, having claimed the ultimate prize in club football, Foden admitted that the team needed to discover a reason to hit those same heights, once again.
For Foden, that came from a conversation with Jack Grealish, shortly after lifting the Champions League trophy. The fresh goal for City this season, then, is to win the quadruple.
