Some Manchester United supporters do not believe the club needs to dip into the transfer market before next Friday's deadline to source a new left-back, naming Alvaro Fernandez as the ideal replacement for Luke Shaw.
United confirmed on Thursday evening that Shaw will be out for 'a number of weeks' with an unspecified muscle injury. He was a key fixture under Ten Hag last season and has started the opening two games of this season's Premier League campaign.
Though United have said the England defender will be sidelined for 'a number of weeks', they have not put an exact timeframe on how long he will be out for.
It is thought that he will miss England's clashes with Ukraine and Scotland next month. Just hours before the Reds announced Shaw's injury blow, the club sanctioned a deal that allowed fellow left-back Brandon Williams to head out on loan.
