Alvaro Fernandez is set to leave Manchester United on loan on the final day of the summer transfer window. The 20-year-old has agreed a season-long deal with La Liga side Granada, following some late interest from other Spanish sides in his signature.
The Manchester Evening News revealed earlier in the week that Fernandez was set to leave the club once a new left-back was signed, with Sergio Reguilon joining the club from Tottenham.
Erik ten Hag revealed in his press conference on Friday that Reguilon has already trained with his new teammates and could make his debut against Arsenal on Sunday. Fernandez, who excelled on loan with Preston last season, is still highly rated by United coaches, but they feel he needs another loan move before he can be considered for a first-team role.
