Most of Manchester United’s international players have enjoyed plenty of game time over the past 10 days. Erik ten Hag has learned that he may indeed be without Andre Onana for a handful of games in January after he helped Cameroon qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations by keeping a clean sheet in their 3-0 win over Burundi.

Back on European shores, Bruno Fernandes showed why he is Portugal's next leader. After hitting the only goal in a 1-0 Euro 2024 qualifying win over Slovakia, the United captain tallied a hat-trick of assists plus another goal in the 9-0 mauling of Luxembourg.

Fellow Dane Rasmus Hojlund featured as a substitute in the two matches, enjoying just over 75 minutes across both games. Scott McTominay has given Ten Hag food for thought after taking his Euro qualifying tally to six goals when heading home in Scotland’s 3-0 win over Cyprus, briefly going joint-top of the goalscoring chart.
