The left-back problem Manchester United are suddenly contending with an injury crisis just two games into the season.
Mason Mount picked up a hamstring injury against Tottenham last weekend and Luke Shaw is facing a lay-off after sustaining a muscular injury.
Tyrell Malacia is also sidelined with a longer-term issue and that means Alvaro Fernandez, who is yet to make his first-team debut, is the only natural left-back available for selection against Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Fernandez should have made his debut at the end of the 2021/22 season when Alex Telles played instead. It was disappointing not to see the youngster given a chance but his patience might be rewarded on Saturday afternoon.
