Teddy Swims has opened up about the struggle of balancing taking time off to welcome a baby with having to tour to be able to afford one.The singer-songwriter appeared on Capital Radio’s Evening Show with Jimmy Hill just before performing on stage at the BRIT Awards on Saturday (March 1), where he confirmed that he and his partner are expecting a baby boy, due in June.He went on to articulate the fine balance that many parents will recognise, between the need to take time off work and the growing financial pressure to keep earning.“Yeah, we’ve got June off for the baby to be here and a lot of July off as well,” he said on the show. “But unfortunately, there is so much of this year that has been scheduled and we’re buying a house as well so we’re going to tour a little bit less.”“But for the rest of this year, if I stop touring then we can’t afford to have a baby.
