Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorFoo Fighters and Taylor Hawkins’ family have announced the first round of performers for the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert scheduled to take place in London in September.Performers include a mix of the late drummer’s friends and influences: Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde, Oasis’ Liam Gallagher, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Supergrass and Mark Ronson are on the bill, with comedian Dave Chappelle billed as a special guest.Also on the bill are Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney, the Police’s Stewart Copeland, Omar Hakim, Rufus Taylor (a Queen touring member), Wolfgang Van Halen, and Hawkins’ cover band Chevy Metal. The shows will benefit charities to be announced later, according to the band.

Mad Cool festival have unveiled the final line-up for this year’s iteration, spearheaded by the addition of new headliner Incubus.The ‘Drive’ rockers join as one of three acts set to close out the third day of the five-day festival (Friday July 8), headlining alongside Muse and Alt-J. They replace Queens Of The Stone Age, who according to a post on social media, have pulled out “for reasons beyond the control of the festival organisation”.A total of 19 acts were added to the line-up, including the likes of Don Broco, CL and NOISY.

Content warning: This story contains discussion and descriptions of alleged domestic violence.Brody Dalle has testified against her ex-husband Josh Homme during the first day of an expected 10-day trial regarding the former couple’s duelling domestic violence restraining orders.Both Dalle and Homme filed their respective restraining orders against each other back in August, with this latest hearing set to decide whether the emergency stay-away order should stand (via Rolling Stone).The trial was postponed until this week after Dalle was convicted in November of one count of contempt by a Los Angeles judge for “wilfully” failing to hand her five-year-old son over to Homme in September as part of an agreed custody deal.In this latest trial, which began yesterday (January 24), Dalle testified that Homme “terrified” her and alleged that, in November 2019, the Queens of the Stone Age frontman head-butted her so hard that she “saw stars”.“He head-butted me really hard. His forehead hit my head right here [gesturing to her right temple],” Distillers founder Dalle told the court during her testimony.

Royal Blood have talked about the experience of working with Josh Homme on their new single ‘Boilermaker’, describing the producer as being “just like this big kid having fun”.The duo were speaking to NME for this week’s Big Read cover story when they explained how coming to work with the Queens Of The Stone Age frontman on the track – taken from their upcoming third album ‘Typhoons’ – always seemed like a good fit.“Having toured extensively with Queens, we became really good friends with them and I was lucky enough to feature on [Homme’s 2019 side project] ‘The Desert Sessions Vol 11/12‘,” frontman Mike Kerr told NME.
