Following the success of BBC drama The Split, fans of Nicola Walker's work were excited to tune last night (14 August) to her new BBC drama in which she stars alongside homegrown Hollywood superstar Sean Bean. Marriage is a four-part series with the story revolving around Ian (played by Sean) and Nicola's character Emma, who have been married for almost 30 years.

Sean Bean, who many will know from his roles in Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones or Sharpe. Alongside Bean is Nicola Walker - star of Annika, Unforgotten, Spooks. And yet despite this stellar cast, some viewers say they found themselves switching off early on in the programme.
