Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has been finding comfort in spending quality time with former show partner Rose Ayling-Ellis after his shock exit from the 2023 series. Pro dancer Giovanni was partnered with Amanda Abbington this year, who left the competition on 23 October saying in a statement that she was "unable to continue".There have been rumours that the pair clashed over training schedules during her time on the show, and now Giovanni has turned to former EastEnders star Rose, who he won the 2021 contest with and remains close to.

Giovanni took to his Instagram tonight to share that he had "swapped" Rose for someone else for tonight's Birmingham show.Giovanni lifted the Glitterball last year for the first time, having previously made it to the final three times.Rose and Giovanni formed a "connection" whilst on the show, with Giovanni even getting a tattoo dedicated to their win.However, the Strictly professional took to his Instagram story this evening to reveal that Rose was not taking part in tonight's Newcastle show.In view of his 797,000 followers he posted the selfie video.Giovanni said: "So Newcastle, we got the last show and unfortunately Rose couldn't do the show tonight, for some reason."So, I swapped for somebody else and it's actually one of the ABBA members."The camera then moved to Rose in the background, doing the traditional ABBA dance moves whilst singing the group's hit Dancing Queen.Giovanni then moved the camera back to his face as he repeated: "Where's Rose? Instagram this morning to post a photo of his latest tattoo.The professional dancer is currently on tour with the Strictly Come Dancing live show, and marked the occasion with a touching tribute.Sharing an image of his forearm, Giovanni revealed he’d got a new tattoo on his wrist.This was to mark him winning the 2021 Strictly series with Rose back in December.The simple tattoo features the Strictly Glitterball trophy with “SCD” written through it.Then underneath it features the date of the show’s final on December 18.He wrote in a caption alongside the image: “We are the champions, we are the champions”.Giovanni also tagged Rose in the post as well as penning: “Welcome home!”The dancer shared who his tattoo artist was as he mentioned Miles Langford in his story.Miles is a London-based artist at The London Social in Soho.Rose and Giovanni have been dancing alongside their fellow Strictly stars on the show’s tour.The pair recently shared a sweet message about how excited they are to be dancing together again.In a video earlier this week, Giovanni said: “It's nice to dance with you again.”Rose then added: “Yeah, it's lovely to dance again and it brings back happy memories.”Giovanni then cheekily scolded Rose to get back to practise.
