Ray Winstone says he nearly quit the 2021 MCU movie “Black Widow” — and likened its “soul-destroying” endless reshoots to being “kicked in the balls.”Winstone, 67, who played villainous Russian general Dreykov in the movie — opposite Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow — made his damning comments about working in the Marvel Comics Universe to UK’s Radio Times.“It was fine until you have to do the reshoots,” he said in this week’s issue of Radio Times, according to Daily Mail. “Then you find out that a few producers have come down, and your performance is too much, it’s too strong.”“That’s the way Marvel works,” he added.

Ray Winstone has described filming Marvel‘s Black Widow as a “soul-destroying” experience.In a new interview with with Radio Times magazine, the actor, who played villain Dreykov in the Scarlett Johansson-led 2021 action-thriller, admitted that filming the Marvel movie “was fine until you have to do the reshoots.”“Then you find out that a few producers have come down, and your performance is too much, it’s too strong… That’s the way Marvel works,” Winstone said. “It can be soul-destroying because you feel like you’re doing great work.”The Sexy Beast actor said that he wanted to give up on the project altogether, but realised couldn’t as he was contractually obliged to complete it.“I actually said, ‘You ought to recast it because that was it for me.’ And you end up doing it again because you’re contracted to do it,” he explained.

Ray Winstone appeared in Marvel’s Black Widow, which came out in 2021 and which starred Scarlett Johansson as the titular character.

Witty, nimble, sharply dressed, and light on its feet, Guy Ritchie’s dexterous “The Gentlemen” is a largely surprising delight (mostly, anyhow)—an entertaining crime comedy with a snap, crackle, and pop that’s far superior to the more self-enamored 2019 film of the same name whence it came. Naman Ramachandran Camelot Media has set action-adventure film franchise “The Lost Book of Creation.” Roel Reine (“Line of Fire,” “Halo”) will direct the first film of the planned three-film franchise. Matt Hookings (“Prizefighter”) has written the script and will also star alongside Madalina Diana Ghenea (“Deep Fear,” “House of Gucci”). The film follows archaeologists Slade (Hookings) and Eve (Ghenea) as they set out to find the legendary lost Book of Creation, which is believed to hold the secrets of the universe and the answer to why and how humankind exists.
