Ethan Shanfeld Shawn Levy has entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The director of “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project” will once again team up with Ryan Reynolds for “Deadpool 3,” the much-anticipated third installment of the comedic action franchise, Variety confirms.Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who penned the first two “Deadpool” films, will write the third movie based on the “X-Men” comic book character, created by Rob Liefeld.

Following the box-office success of Free Guy and critical acclaim of The Adam Project, director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds are now looking for the hat trick as Levy is now in negotiations to direct Marvel’s Deadpool 3. Reynolds is set to star Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are penning the script. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin penned a previous draft.

Twisted Metal show adapting the PlayStation video game series will be released on Peacock.Development has begun on the project over the last year, and new plot details have been released by the US streamer.“Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland,” reads an official description of the show shared in a press release obtained by ComicBook.“With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”Anthony Mackie and Will Arnett are currently attached to star in the show, while Michael Johnathan Smith will serve as the show’s showrunner, writer and executive producer.Sony Pictures co-presidents Jeff Frost and Jason Cloffelter recently spoke about the progress of the Twisted Metal TV series.“We are thrilled that our first series with our good friends at Peacock is with our amazing partners at Electric Avenue, Universal Television and colleagues at PlayStation Productions,” the pair said in a joint statement. “Michael Jonathan Smith and Rhett and Paul have ingeniously brought this high-action comedy to life and we are so fortunate to have Anthony at the centre of the show.

Peacock has handed a series order to Twisted Metal, a comedic half-hour live-action adaptation of the popular video game, from Sony Pictures TV, Playstation Productions and Universal Television. Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) stars and executive produces the project, first announced in September, which is written and executive produced by Cobra Kai writer Michael Jonathan Smith, who will serve as showrunner. Will Arnett and Marc Forman, who secured the rights to the material and helped put the adaptation together, also executive produce via their Electric Avenue production company.

The show was first reported as being in development back in February 2021.The half-hour action comedy will see Mackie play John Doe, a smart-ass milkman who talks as fast as he drives.
