When he came in with the idea for an animated Star Trek series, following the comedic adventures of lower-level officers, he was prepared to be shown the door. Instead, McMahan ended up creating an Emmy-nominated series for Paramount+ with a fifth, and final, season on the way.

Based on the beloved Sega games of the same name, the show hails from co-creators Mike McMahan and Joe Chandler. Matthew Rhys (“The Americans,” “Perry Mason”), Danny Pudi (“Community,” “Mythic Quest”), Lisa Gilroy (“Jury Duty,” “Interior Chinatown”), Liam McIntyre (“Spartacus,” “The Flash”), and Carl Tart (“Grand Crew,” “Star Trek: Lower Decks”) will lead the voice cast.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been renewed for a fourth season ahead of the show’s Season 3 premiere which is slated for 2025 and currently in production. Additionally, the previously announced fifth season of Star Trek: Lower Decks will serve as its final. New episodes of the final season, currently in production, will arrive this fall.

Dan Stevens is voicing Korvo in the upcoming fourth season of Hulu’s adult animated series Solar Opposites. Selome Hailu Hulu has renewed adult animated comedy “Solar Opposites” for its fifth season. The news was announced at a panel discussion about the series at New York Comic Con on Thursday. The Season 5 renewal comes before the show’s fourth season has even debuted. Season 3 of the series arrived on Hulu in July, with Season 4 set to premiere with 12 episodes sometime in 2023. The series has aired several holiday specials, most recently “Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special,” which arrived on Hulu on Oct. 3. Justin Roiland, best known for creating Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” with Dan Harmon, co-created “Solar Opposites” along with “Star Trek: Lower Decks” creator Mike McMahan.
