Patrick Frater Asia Bureau Chief V from Korean pop icons BTS will Tuesday unveil a live performance video in collaboration with French luxury brand Cartier in support of his – already hit – new digital single “FRI(END)S.” Released at 1 p.m. Korean time on Friday, “FRI(END)S” is a pop soul song that is the artist’s first solo project since “Layover,” his debut solo album released in September. The English-language song is a love song depicting one person’s confession of love to a friend.

This was achieved despite the hiatus being forced on BTS, the company’s most famous K-pop act, by its band members’ military enlistment. On Tuesday, Suga, who had his first solo music tour earlier this year, became the third member of BTS to begin his compulsory military service.

The members of BTS are – as we know – currently at various stages of working on solo material, as they all take a break from the group of indeterminant length. While some are closer to releasing new music than others, the group’s V has revealed that he’s starting from scratch after shelving a load of previously recorded songs.“I shelved all those [older] songs and I’m writing new ones”, he tells Weverse Magazine. “But I think I’m doing a good job with the writing now”.“I don’t have any regrets”, he goes on.

When Kookie asked TaeTae what's been on his mind these days, Taehyung confessed how being away from ARMY due to the COVID-19 situation has taken a major toll on him."Ever since our On promotion, since we couldn't see ARMY from the stage, I couldn't feel certain that I was someone who was receiving love.

A while back, reports suggested that BTS member V aka Kim Taehyung is all set to collaborate with popular K-drama Itaewon Class for its OST. Earlier, while making his acting debut with the 2016 drama Hwarang, V and Jin sang for the OST, in a track titled It's Definitely You. This time, it will be Kim's first solo track for a K-drama! Earlier, in a V Live session with RM, V had also confirmed the news that he was indeed contributing to Itaewon Class' OST along with writing two other tracks.
